Yesterday the ribbon was cut over the East Galway & Midlands Cancer Support new Bus Service which will serve to our local community in transporting 8 patients per day to the University Hospital Galway for their treatment. Present on the day to launch the service was Centre Patron and Connacht Rugby star James Connolly who assisted the Manager of the Centre, Jacqueline Daly and the Chairman of the organization, Mossie Concannon in the launch of the service. Each of them explained various aspects of the service, their involvement and their thoughts about the new bus!

As stated by Jacqueline during the launch, this is only the first bus and the plans are being put in place for a 3-bus service to be in operation within the next couple of years. This fantastic service is of course voluntary and is entirely funded by the Cancer Support Group themselves whose only source of income is donations by members of the public so if you feel like helping in any small way, pop into the center to find out more!
